Microsoft: Xbox Series X är en tyst konsol

Xbox One X kunde väsnas när saker och ting hettade till i vissa spel, medan Playstation 4 och i synnerhet Playstation 4 Pro var väldigt högljudda (tänk en helikopterlandning i vardagsrummet). Så vad gäller inför nästa generation då? Varken Microsoft eller Sony har sagt något om volymen tidigare, men vi vet ju att högre prestanda behöver mer kylning - och att det ofta betyder mer oväsen.

Nu har dock Microsoft kommenterat saken via Xbox Wire, och får man tro dem körs Xbox Series X både "tyst och effektivt":

"The team got lots of great feedback from the customers they shared the Xbox Series X prototypes with, so it was time to dive into the work of solving the technical challenges that came with it. Xbox Series X features the most powerful System on Chip (SoC) ever from Xbox, and creatively cooling that chip with a single axial fan is what unlocked the solution to the form. By splitting the motherboard in half and bolting each side to the central aluminum chassis, the team was able to pull a huge amount of air through the entire system at a low enough acoustic level to keep the console running quietly and efficiently."

Xbox Series X har ett för konsoler udda utseende, men är enligt uppgift designad så för att snabbt leda luft genom hela systemet. Microsoft ger dock inga konkreta siffror så det är svårt att veta exakt vad "tyst" betyder i detta fall, men med tanke på hur bra jobb de gjort generellt med volymen denna generation, så är vi ändå hoppfulla.
