Alan Wake

I was in between giving it a 7 or an 8. Giving it an 8 would be the reason for originality, atmosphere and the depth in the game.

Interesting story and incredible graphics and lighting. Although combat-wise it gets repetitive after a while with the shine / shot the shadows and that's what struck me the most, it's repetitiveness.

Apart from the Poltergeist objects "wich take ages to destroy" it brings nothing more to the table of combat in the game.

The random spotlights that were sometimes unexplainable from Wake were totally random even if they helped you fight the shadows at that particular point. Don't get me wrong, I am greatful they put them there especially when I played in Nightmare difficulty. But realistically I wouldn't say that it's the strong point of the game.

Many games have what I call *Fantasy Realism*, that means that the game is based on a fantasy driven story but if it relates to everyday life it still has a portion of realism in it, such as character depth, personality and actions dependable on circumstances.

So it gets an 7 / 10 eventually.

Overall great game though, I don't regret buying it and I hope Remedy Entertainment brings us more of their works in the near future.
